Paris **** Day Two

Lunch outside before it rains the rest of the day... yes, you are detecting a pattern

Going to the Louvre
This place is massive.  There is mall underground to get to the entrance.

This made me feel 16 again!  I almost went in and bought one.  Then I thought of how ridiculous I would look wearing a Swatch.

the Louvre...

Nike
The Winged Victory of Samothrace
This was one of my favorites, it was just beautiful.  It's from 200 BC Greece!

When we finally got to the Mona Lisa this is the craziness we found!  I was more captivated by the 100 or so people packed in like they were waiting for concert tickets, all trying to get a picture of a picture that's behind a thick glass.  I thought it was funny that in all the pictures I took of her, you would always see the reflection of all the people in the glass!  The two "guards" would kick people out if they used their flash.

My best shot of a work of art.  you decide.

As John pointed out, this amazing painting was on the opposite wall and not getting near as much attention.

I did not know these paintings were so huge!

Tons of super old Egyptian stuff.  :)

Trying to reinforce some of our Ancient Egypt and Greece studies from this year.  And take a break from a LOT of walking.

Greek Hall
     Beautiful

Haley liked this one, of course.

Just another vision of beauty...

Inside the American Church

I don't know why this picture would only load sideways, but this is the pew in the church
