The girls and I went to a fabric market in Trier! There are no fabric stores here, so this is how it's done! I loved it! It was fun and beautiful! But I didn't come home with all the fabric to start my long dark winter's worth of sewing projects, as I planned. Actually, I came home with almost nothing. The pretty fabric was too expensive for me, and the cheap fabric was not cheap enough or not pretty enough!
Haley found something to make a doll blanket with. Emma and I got fabric to make a valance for her room and a pillow. I bought a few oilcloths I liked, just so I wouldn't come home empty-handed. They had the prettiest oilcloths. I have no clue what I will do with them!
It wasn't a productive trip, but it was fun! I loved the idea of the whole thing!
Next stop... JoAnn's.com!
You know how I love buttons! I was disappointed that they weren't all piled into cute buckets sorted by color! oh yeah, this is PRACTICAL.
that's more like it....
These were some of my favorites! So pretty! (and 17eu per meter!)...(about $22/yd)
Haley and Emma and their friend Lexi. (My friend Robin and her daughter went with us!)
